What is Silvervine?
Silvervine (or Silver Vine) is a pretty, climbing edible plant in the kiwi family that has a compound in its leaves and stems that is a lot like the active compound in catnip. 75% of cats who don’t react to catnip, do react to silver vine.

Wait, not all silver vine products are vegan and cruelty-free?
Silvervine galls are caused by the fleshy larvae of small insects that grow inside silvervine stems in Japan. They are cooked alive in the stems and then ground up into a powder. Gross! (We will never put dead bug dust in your home and air.. eeewww!)

Yes! Cats react to the scent of catnip and silvervine. Eating them has no effect, but Fiend catnip is edible and has no pokey parts, so it’s safe and natural for cats to eat it if they want to.
